VIETNAM

STORY TIME
We don't have a Dodo adventure story for Vietnam yet, but we'd love to create one! Imagine all the amazing places Dodo could explore - sailing through Ha Long Bay's mystical islands, getting lost in giant underground caves, riding water buffalo through golden rice terraces, and discovering floating markets in the Mekong Delta! If you'd like to see Dodo's Vietnam adventure come to life, let us know!

ALL ABOUT VIETNAM

Welcome to Vietnam, the land shaped like a dragon! This spectacular Southeast Asian country stretches over 1,600 kilometers from north to south, with coastline along the South China Sea that's perfect for beach adventures! Vietnam has everything: mystical Ha Long Bay with over 1,600 limestone islands rising from emerald waters, the mighty Mekong Delta where people live on floating houses, incredible caves so big you could fit a 40-story building inside, and rice terraces that climb mountains like green staircases to the sky!
RESIDENTS
About 102 million people call Vietnam home, making it the 15th most populated country in the world! Ho Chi Minh City (also called Saigon) is the largest city with nearly 10 million people, while Hanoi, the capital, has about 8.5 million. Tourism is booming back to pre-pandemic levels, with 17.6 million international visitors in 2024, who come to experience Vietnam's incredible food, stunning landscapes, and rich culture!
LANGUAGES
Vietnamese is the official language, written with the Latin alphabet but featuring special tone marks that make words sound like music! Vietnam recognizes 54 different ethnic groups, each with their own languages and traditions. In tourist areas, many people speak English, and you'll also hear Chinese, French, and other languages from Vietnam's diverse cultural heritage.
INDUSTRY
Vietnam is famous worldwide for its delicious coffee - it's the world's second-largest coffee producer after Brazil, producing 17% of the world's coffee, mostly the strong Robusta variety! The country is also known for beautiful silk and amazing street food that draws food lovers from around the globe. Coffee exports alone reached US$5.48 billion in 2024, while tourism brings in billions more as visitors come to cruise through Ha Long Bay's floating villages, explore the world's largest caves in Phong Nha National Park, trek through Sapa's colorful mountain villages, and experience the bustling floating markets of the Mekong Delta where vendors sell tropical fruits from wooden boats!
