Malta is a tiny island nation located in the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, south of Italy and north of Libya. Despite its small size, Malta plays a big role in history, culture, and biodiversity. Known as a bridge between Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, Malta has been a hub of human activity for thousands of years

RESIDENTS

Population: About 520,000 people live on Malta’s three main islands: Malta, Gozo, and Comino.

LANGUAGES

Maltese and English are the official languages.

INDUSTRY

Tourism is Malta’s largest industry, followed by manufacturing and financial services.
