ALL ABOUT KENYA

Welcome to Kenya, the heart of East Africa's wild kingdom! This spectacular country is where the most amazing animal adventures happen! Kenya has it all: endless golden savannas where millions of animals migrate every year, snow-capped mountains right on the equator, the Great Rift Valley that you can see from space, and sparkling Indian Ocean beaches with coral reefs full of colorful fish. Kenya is where you can watch elephants play in red dust, see lions lounging under acacia trees, and witness the greatest animal show on Earth - the wildebeest migration!
RESIDENTS
About 53 million people call Kenya home, with 4.9 million living in the bustling capital city of Nairobi. Kenya welcomes over 2 million visitors every year who come from around the world to experience its incredible wildlife safaris and beautiful beaches along the coast.
LANGUAGES
Kenya has two official languages: English (used in schools and government) and Swahili (called Kiswahili locally). But here's something amazing - Kenya is home to over 60 different languages! Many Kenyans speak at least three languages. You might hear "Jambo!" (Hello in Swahili) or "Habari?" (How are you?) when visiting this friendly country.
INDUSTRY
Kenya is famous worldwide for its incredible safari adventures! Tourism brings in about $2.7 billion every year as visitors come to see the "Big Five" animals (lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, and buffalo) in places like the Maasai Mara. Kenya also grows some of the world's best tea and coffee in its highlands, and produces beautiful flowers that are flown fresh to Europe every day. Plus, Kenya's long-distance runners are Olympic champions who seem to fly across the finish line!
